Menomonie and Teletherapy

Emily Bergum, MS LMFT-IT

Welcome! I’m Emily Bergum, a passionate Marriage and Family Therapist dedicated to helping individuals and families navigate life’s challenges. I earned my master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of Wisconsin-Stout following my bachelor’s degree in Family and Consumer Science Education with a minor in Human Development and Family Sciences.

Before becoming a therapist, I spent several years as a middle and high school Family and Consumer Science teacher. This experience enriched my understanding of family dynamics and developmental stages which I now bring into the therapy room. I work with children ages 8 and up, adolescents, teens, young adults, families, and couples, addressing issues such as anxiety, depression, family conflict, and life transitions. I also have a deep commitment to supporting the LGBTQIA+ community, ensuring a safe and inclusive environment for all clients.

I believe that therapy is a collaborative journey. By fostering a relationship built on empathy and curiosity, I view my clients as the true experts of their own lives. My approach integrates evidence-based methods and a trauma-informed lens, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, family systems, interpersonal neurobiology (IPNB), and strengths-based strategies. Together, we’ll explore your strengths and develop effective solutions tailored to your unique needs.

Outside of therapy, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, baking, cooking, gardening, sewing, watching movies, and connecting with nature. I look forward to partnering with you on your path to healing and personal growth.
